Who this policy covers

This policy applies to this website and the pages on it. Questions about it can be raised through the channels on the support page.

Information collected when you visit

Requests to this site pass through Cloudflare, which protects the site and delivers it quickly, before pages are sent by our web server. To do that, both necessarily receive technical information such as your IP address, the address of the page requested, and the browser's user agent. This information is used to deliver the site and keep it secure.

What the site does not do

  • It doesn't use analytics or visitor statistics tools.
  • It doesn't show advertising.
  • It doesn't use tracking pixels, fingerprinting or social media widgets.
  • It doesn't set cookies of its own or store anything in your browser.
  • It doesn't have accounts or logins, and doesn't keep a history of what you look up.
  • It doesn't load fonts, scripts or other resources from third-party servers.

Discord

Support and community discussion will take place on Discord. If you join the server or send a message there, Discord processes that information under its own terms and privacy policy, which this site doesn't control.

When you use a tool

  • Calculators, colour codes, the gradient, MOTD and server.properties generators, skin files you open and whitelist.json files you import work entirely in your browser. Nothing you type or open is sent anywhere.
  • Player Lookup, UUID Lookup, Skin Downloader, the Whitelist Creator, and player lookups in the Skin Viewer and Head Generator send the username or UUID to our web server, which requests the profile and skin from Mojang’s services (Mojang is part of Microsoft). Mojang receives the request from our server, not from your device, and doesn’t receive your IP address from us.
  • Server Status for Java Edition sends the address to our status service on Cloudflare, which connects to that server once to ask for its status. The server sees a connection from our server.
  • Server Status for Bedrock Edition sends the address to our status service on Cloudflare, which passes it to mcstatus.io, a third-party status service, to get the result.

We don’t keep a history of the names, UUIDs or addresses you look up, and they aren’t linked to you. To reduce load on these services, results are kept for a short time so repeated lookups get the same answer: on our web server for up to five minutes for player names, one minute for profiles and one day for skin images, and in Cloudflare’s cache for 30 seconds for server status. Your browser may also keep a copy for a short time.

Limiting lookups

So that the tools can’t be used to flood Mojang’s services or the servers being checked, the number of lookups is limited. For player lookups, our web server counts requests per IP address (for IPv6, per network block). It doesn’t store the address itself: it stores a scrambled version made with a random key that is replaced every day, together with a counter. Counters are deleted automatically after a few minutes and the keys after two days, and none of this is written to a log or used for anything else. This is processing of your IP address for a short time, not anonymous processing. Server status checks are limited per server address, not per visitor.

Before analytics, advertising or any other feature that processes more information is added, this policy will be updated to describe it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, such as asking what is held about you. The site doesn't ask for or collect personal information beyond what is needed to deliver pages.

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will change too.
